Welcome to Ballet Based Fitness!

Fitness classes based on ballet technique.

How is Ballet Based Fitness different from other fitness classes?

The muscles of your abs, glutes, back, arms and legs are worked in every exercise. If an exercise focuses on a leg movement, the posture and opposition in your upper body creates resistance similar to working with weights or bands. All of your major muscle groups remain active throughout the class.

What if I have never had a ballet class?

No ballet experience is necessary. The goal of these classes is fitness rather than to dance (though you may feel like dancing!). The exercises are based on basic ballet technique, but they are not ballet classes.

What should I wear?

Fitness attire should be fitted, yet comfortable to allow freedom of movement. For example a tank top and yoga pants. Bare feet or soft shoes such as ballet slippers are best to allow for full flexibility of your feet.
